Google Webmaster Group Participation

If you look for any help on Google’s Webmaster Help Center eventually you will find a link to Google’s discussion group for webmasters.
Participation in the group has been growing since it’s inception in June 2005
One benefit to the group is that you get real answers from real employee’s of Google. It’s really the only method for communication between a webmaster and someone at Google. Other methods such as email don’t exist and un-official forums such as Matt Cutts blog or webmasterworld don’t have the endorsed-take-it-to-the-bank official status of being from Google.
Up to six different employees participate: Adam Lasnik, Vanessa Fox, Thu Tu, Maile Ohye, Google Employee, and Jonathon Simon.

What are the odds that you may actually get an answer to your specific questions? Well they are not really that great, about 1-1/2 in 100.
Trending shows a slight decrease in Google Input Lately
It should be noted that a lot of topics have been covered in great detail through the 61,000 plus that are archived. A better navigation and FAQ (frequently asked questions) system needs to be developed to make that information more accessible and usable but from what I understand that is in the works.
