I can't remember how I ended up on such an old post but I just want to add that it's been over six months and still no response from Lasnik. I know it's obvious he's not going to respond but wow. I'd say you stumped him.

Anyway, seen any improvements yet?

Thanks Sasch, I agree completely of course. Education of the masses does not take place by teaching the scholars, they have their own agendas, you need to get to the people directly.

Whenever I write about Adam I always wear the appropriate gear, dressing up like a pirate when talking about Matt Cutts is kind of weird, but you have to do what you have to do.

An extremely well made series of points, especially about the general ignorance of 99% of site owners out there and the dissemination of information.

Unless you get a basic knowledge of standards/guidelines/whatever into the grass-roots of the webmaster community, you're forever going to fighting an uphill battle where site structure, nofollow tags, guidelines and whatnot are concerned [as evidenced by the many repetitive posts in GWHG].

Just out of interest, how many bucket hats were you wearing when you wrote this? ;-)
