Agreed, but I’m not talking of tricking Google, they know what’s going on, they’re the one crawling the page with the links. I’m talking about hiding the links from competitors.

I think Google state “Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings” - ask yourself that question when thikning about your loopholes and you will find your answer.

Since I don’t know the answer to your last question, I believe I would not use the “no index” or make sure my pages were conforming. It could be devastating to a company to find their website has dropped off the map.
