I suppose I should add something about myself here and I will, someday…

For now, I’ll just explain the picture on the header of the blog. It’s a picture of the two bridges in La Crosse, Wisconsin that go over the Mississippi River.

Since people have asked, the (c) at the bottom is MY copyright, the blog hasn’t been around since 1968, I have.

The La Crosse UW campus? THE most partying campus in all the UW chain.

Had many an interesting time decades ago in a donut shop right on campus, used the be THE place to hang out.

You would have been around 10 years old at that time.

Why am I feeling old all of a sudden???

I sold donuts for them during the Oktoberfest parade when I was a boy scout about then.

Mr. D’s Donuts, named for Darrel Kleaver, and his wife Rosy.

Go ahead and try to figure out how I know that!!! I dare ya! :-()

Oh, and guessing that I know it because I am OLD would be highly suggested against!! Hint hint!

By the way, Rosy is doing great in Florida in a business she and her and Darrel’s daughter run together.

Unfortunately Darrel died a number of years back due to the Big C! :-(

But I never knew anyone to have lived life like he did!!

One thing we always used to say about Darrel, “If shit were worth money, he would have been born with 20 assholes.” He couldn’t touch any kind of business and not fall over and make a couple of million from it, even ones that other had failed at doing anything with.

I think he sold Mr. D’s for at least a mill 1/2 way back when.

What a guy Darrel! He is and has been truely missed!

R.I.P. Darrel and may you have as many cowboy shirts in heaven as you had on earth!!! :-)

Oh boy, I’ll look for him on 3rd street. It’s only a mile of bars on both sides. Keep an eye on things seen in a bar, maybe he’ll be in there. I go to La Crosse every weekend.
