Posting has been pretty light for me lately. I’ve been seriously disillusioned with the industry I’ve been talking about here, but I’ve found some reasons to hit the trail again and figure to be back to our regularly scheduled terrible writing and mere conjecture soon.

In the mean time, I thought I’d share some pictures. Here’s me and 80,000+ friends cheering the Wisconsin Badgers on to victory against the much hated Michigan team.

Before the game we had to get primed up for the 40 degree weather. For my German readers, here’s a picture of the Jager bus at a tailgate party.

I’ll be going to Oktoberfest this weekend, it will be nothing like the real one that I attended in Munich a few years ago, but it’s our humble version of the real thing.The kids love the parade and dad loves the bier.

I think my first stop will be to meet with the web designer, they still have a hit counter on there! I’m surprised it didn’t tell me that the site was best viewed with Internet Explorer 4.0.

Gemutlichkeit!

For my international readers, I’m trying to not be the ugly American and exposing my kids to new things, including soccer.  I don’t understand the fascination with it at all, it bores me to tears as there doesn’t appear to be any strategy whatsoever, but that may be because we are dealing with six year old kids here.

All this talk about white, gray, or black hats.  Let’s not forget the bucket hats.

This is what happens when a son asks his mechanical engineer father to build him something to hold butterflies.  He ends up with a contraption that has three doors and a remote operated isolation chamber.  It’s so heavy the poor kid can’t move it, on the other hand you could park a truck on it and it would support the weight.

I need a new challenge.

My oldest son, Connor, asked me if I could put him “on the dot com” which is his way of referring to the internet. I was more than happy to oblige him and even included the youngest, Colin.

Becoming a parent means that your own mortality is no longer your number one concern, it’s rather comforting.

Here’s a picture of my boys Connor and Colin, it was taken about November of 2006. We went sledding today, right below the bluff you see at the top of this page.

There’s nothing to see here, nothing at all, just a link that I don’t want anyone to follow, which is why it’s got nofollow on it. Who do you think will follow it? The logs are set and we’ll be watching. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS PURE, no one link to it!It’s tough to run a public experiment when the public could ruin the experiment isn’t it?
